The North Sound

The North Sound is truly one of the great natural wonders of the world. Imagine crystal-clear waters where one can snorkel around both free-standing coral heads as well as along a barrier reef that stretches for miles and miles. With depths ranging from less than 3 feet at the Stingray City Sandbar, up to 15 feet at some of the snorkel sites. If 7-Mile Beach is the face of our island, then the North Sound is its heart & soul. To locals, it is a sacred body of water that serves both as a massive estuary for most of our island’s marine life as well as the backbone of our tourism-based economy. To visitors…….It is PARADISE!
