We are here in GC this week and wanted to offer a favorable recommendation for using Nick’s Private Charters for a day on the water. Both Nick and Noel are great conversationalists. They are also very hospitable and they “get it” when it comes to service. Fresh fruit, soda, water, chips and salsa and sandwiches provided on the boat. They pick you up at the ER dock and in 5 minutes you’re on the open water! Our family of four was small for their boat (could accommodate at least 8) so we were very comfortable. Please consider Nick’s if a day (or 1/2 day) on the water is in your plan while visiting Grand Cayman.
Our favorite excursion was a day on a newer charter boating option, Nick’s. It’s only been in operation a short while although Nick has years of experience leading other charters and is highly sought after due to his enthusiastic personality and island knowledge. He joined forces with Noel, and the two of them are chartering a wonderful boat that was exactly what we wanted for the day. Their beautiful, clean and pristine boat is not quite a large as the luxury charters, but it actually seats more people very comfortably and was MUCH more reasonably priced. It features lounge seating across the back, along the sides, shaded sections of seating, and the entire bow of the boat is covered in comfortable lounge cushions. It has a dining table with banquette seating and lots of drink holders! There is a cabin underneath as well as a bathroom. The boat feels like a luxury boat but rides more like a speed boat. We were 5 and it was quite comfortable and they say their ideal number of guests is 8, but 10 would easily fit with comfort.
Nick and Noel could not have been more gracious and were dedicated to making the day fun for all of us. Platters of sliced fruit, platters of sandwiches, coolers of drinks and amenities like underwater cameras for our use (and even an underwater film camera which they used to record our family and will be emailing the footage to us) are all included in their extremely reasonable price. They took us to less touristy spots than most charters typically go to, and tried to give us a unique day that showed us more private, local spots as well as popular spots like Sting Ray City and the Starfish Cove. We even traveled along the Mangroves as the sun set and saw a variety of beautiful birds and animals. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
